Who we are
For the past 137 years, The Browning School has been committed to providing boys in Kindergarten through Grade 12 the skills, awareness, and courage to navigate the complex developmental moments that will come to define them as men. Our faculty promote a love of learning and nurture the growth of each student through a vigorous academic program and exposure to a broad range of challenges and opportunities. In our uncommonly warm, inviting, and intellectually vibrant campuses on East 62nd and 64th Streets, Browning students become inquisitive and thoughtful scholars, as well as empathic and ethical leaders and citizens who reflect a diverse range of backgrounds, talents, and interests.
Browning’s Kindergarten entry age cutoff is December 31. We also offer KinderFirst, an accelerated K/1 program for a small group of boys—born between May 1 and October 31—who are ready to master both Kindergarten and Grade 1 skills in a single year and advance directly to Grade 2.
To learn more about the Browning experience at each stage, we invite you to view our Kindergarten Video, Grade 6 Video, and Upper School Video.
