Who we are

The K-8 years are the most important time in a child’s education. VCS focuses exclusively on these years to ensure our students are prepared academically, emotionally, and socially for all that lies ahead.

VCS students are curious and critical thinkers that engage in hands-on, inquiry-based coursework that is rooted in our rigorous curriculum.

  • VCS graduates matriculate to highly-competitive independent, public, and boarding schools. Throughout their 8th Grade year, students take an active role in the high school application process, allowing them a platform to hone their abilities to lead, advocate for themselves, and stay organized – all key skills for any high school student.
  • Located in the heart of the West Village, our campus is conveniently located two blocks away from the PATH train, nearby to several subway stations, and provides bus service from Brooklyn, making any commute a breeze.
  • Our 86,440 square foot campus spans a whole city block. With a woodshop, two outdoor play spaces, a spacious library, two gyms, three state-of-the-art science labs, and more, VCS students enjoy the benefit of plenty of spaces to learn, succeed, grow, and play.

We look forward to sharing our unique K-8 experience with you! To get a glimpse of all our school has to offer, please join us on an upcoming tour.
