Pace Academy

For nearly 70 years, the Pace Academy family—our students, teachers, staff, parents, caregivers, alumni and friends—has carried forward a vision first imagined by an interfaith group of community leaders: an intimate academic community that inspires students to think big about themselves, about others and about the world around them.

It is fitting that our first classroom building, now known as “The Castle,” was once a home, because Pace remains just that—a home. While our campus footprint has expanded and our family has grown, our core values and commitment to excellence endure. Pace today reflects exactly what our founders had in mind: a community of engaged, energized individuals committed to creating prepared, confident citizens of the world.

Over the decades, Pace has become a leader among independent schools while remaining deeply rooted in its mission to educate the whole child. Here, every student is known, loved and encouraged to live out our motto: To have the courage to strive for excellence.

That mission comes to life through rigorous academics, innovative global leadership programs, character education and the close relationships that form between students and teachers. With 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade and an 8:1 student-teacher ratio, Pace cultivates each child’s passions across academics, athletics and the arts. Nearly 90% of Middle and Upper School students participate in both athletics and the arts, while 350 students each year travel abroad through our Isdell Center for Global Leadership, studying in more than 20 countries. In the classroom, Upper School students can pursue a wide range of opportunities, from college preparatory courses to 20 honors classes, 24 APs and nine post-AP offerings.
