Who we are
Saint George Academy
Resilience Forged. Excellence Achieved.
Small by Design. Global by Vision.
Located on historic Taras Shevchenko Place in Manhattan’s East Village, Saint George Academy is a coeducational international high school where tradition meets innovation. Founded in 1946, and coeducational by 1968, the school offers a rigorous, globally minded education that prepares students for college, career, and citizenship in an interconnected world.
On track with its application to become an IB Candidate School, Saint George integrates inquiry, creativity, and scholarship across disciplines. Its four-year data-coding sequence equips students with essential skills for the digital age, while small class sizes ensure personalized attention and meaningful connection.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through cultural engagement and emerging collaborations with leading institutions across New York City. Surrounded by the energy of the East Village—steps from The Cooper Union, The Ukrainian Museum, and the city’s artistic heart—students experience education as a living conversation between knowledge and action.
At Saint George Academy, resilience is more than history—it’s a way of life. Students learn not only to achieve excellence, but to embody it.
