The Roxbury Latin School

Founded in 1645 and set on 117 acres in the southwest corner of Boston, RL serves approximately 310 boys in grades 7-12. We seek boys who will thrive in a challenging environment that emphasizes character development, academic excellence, and broad extracurricular involvement. Our principal goal is to imbue our students with a commitment to a life characterized by honesty, simplicity, respect, and concern for others.

 

We actively strive for racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic diversity in our student body. Long before other schools came to appreciate the power of diversity, Roxbury Latin pursued and welcomed a student body reflective of Greater Boston’s broad demographic. We offer admission without concern for a family’s ability to pay, and we provide whatever financial aid is necessary for a family to be able to send their son here and for him to take part in all elements of our school program.
