Who we are
Welcome to St. Paul's!

St. Paul's is an independent K-8 day school steps from Lake Merritt in Oakland. We welcome families and faculty of all faiths or none.
Our mission is to prepare students to be confident and skilled learners, to cultivate in them a strong sense of purpose, and to inspire them to be generous and active citizens of the world.
Our program balances engaging, challenging academics with thoughtful support for the social-emotional growth of our students. We focus on three principles:
- Critical thinking is the foundation of our academic approach;
- Community Engaged Learning provides service- and place-based education, connecting students to the city around us;
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging are in our DNA. We achieve better, deeper learning by harnessing the power of diversity.
