Who we are

Welcome!

Atrium School is a progressive, independent, co-ed day school where PreK – Grade 8 children flourish as skilled learners and develop as whole people. An emphasis on collaborative, balanced, hands-on curriculum enables students from elementary to middle school to gain and exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills across curricular areas. Located in the heart of Watertown’s vibrant East End, Atrium draws together community-oriented families from across the Greater Boston area.

At Atrium, we prioritize deep inquiry, encourage broad exploration, and delight in the discoveries we make about ourselves and the world around us. Founded with a strong commitment to equity and social justice, Atrium values children as scholars and leaders, preparing them to become responsible global citizens. The curriculum is grounded in interdisciplinary learning experiences that spark curiosity and joy, encourage rigorous discussion and reflection, inspire academic excellence, and instill a sense of responsibility for the well-being of others.

Atrium cultivates a dynamic educational ecosystem where every student is heard, known, and valued. The school community is broadly diverse, welcoming, and inclusive. Atrium students thrive in small, team-taught cohorts embodying the school motto “Excellence with Joy.”
