Who we are
Deep. Small. Brain-Led.
Masterminds Academy is a highly personalized Preschool–Grade 8 school in Los Altos, built around learning groups of just 5–6 students.
Our educational model integrates deep academic learning with languages, music, physical development, social-emotional growth, engineering, technology and real-world experiences.
English, French and Mandarin, Suzuki violin, swimming, gymnastics, interdisciplinary learning and applied projects are built into the educational experience rather than added as separate after-school enrichment.
Masterminds is also engaged in an ongoing research collaboration with the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative, examining how neuroscience and cognitive science can inform the continued development of our educational model. This collaboration has also contributed to a recent article co-authored by Masterminds Founder Shamail Siddiqi and experts from the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative, published by Knowledge at Wharton: “Building Brain Capital: Why Early Childhood Education Shapes the Future Workforce and Economy.”
Within ultra-small groups, teachers can understand how each child learns, continuously adjust challenge and support, and develop individualized pathways toward deep mastery, independence and confidence.

Our small-group model enables teachers to identify when a child is ready for greater challenge, when deeper consolidation is needed, and how learning can be adapted to support sustained progress.
