Who we are

Mid-Peninsula High School

You shouldn’t have to conform in high school. Mid-Peninsula High School certainly hasn’t. We’re the radically inclusive high school that pairs big expectations with unwavering support—so the real you can shine.

Ever had someone believe in you so much it makes you want to rise higher? That’s what we do here every day at Mid-Pen. We challenge you to set big goals—and we’re right there with you as you take them on. Here’s the thing: we believe high school should lift you up, not weigh you down. And with Mid-Pen in your corner, you’ll discover how far you can go.

Every Mind, Its Own Kind of Brilliant

Your Brain. Your Superpower. No two brains work the same—and that’s what makes learning an adventure. Your way of thinking is one-of-a-kind, and that’s your edge. At Mid-Pen, we’ll help you figure out how you learn best, support you in trying new things, and tackle challenges your way. When your school gets you, there’s no limit to what you can do.

Every brain is different. We all think in our own ways, solve problems from different angles, and learn along unique paths. When schools embrace this truth, learning becomes more creative, more inclusive, and more powerful for everyone. At Mid-Pen, we teach to the individual—honoring how each student learns and challenging them to grow into their full potential.

College Prep, Less Stress

High school should be a place where you feel seen, supported, and excited to learn—not weighed down by stress. At Mid-Pen, you’ll be part of a community that knows you, believes in you, and helps you discover just how much you can achieve.

Here, you’ll set big goals—and you won’t be alone in reaching them. Your teachers and classmates will challenge you, cheer you on, and help you build the skills and confidence you need for college and for life.

Classes are small and the focus is on you: how you learn, what you’re passionate about, and where you want to go next. Along the way, you’ll find a true sense of belonging in a community built on respect, kindness, responsibility, and belonging.

Learning Support - built for how students learn best

Mid-Pen is built on the belief that all students can thrive when they’re taught in ways that make sense for them. Our teachers tailor instruction with compassion and intention, using evidence-based strategies and flexible approaches.

We work closely with students who are twice-exceptional, neurodivergent, or simply in need of a different kind of classroom experience—meeting them where they are and igniting unstoppable growth.

Music - this is what together sounds like

Step into Mid-Pen’s music space and you’ll hear it—drums driving, guitars riffing, voices blending into something bigger than any one musician. Here, music isn’t just a class; it’s a creative collision of styles, ideas, and personalities. No auditions, no ego—just students at every level learning, jamming, and performing together. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or fine-tuning your sound, you’ll find a place to play, experiment, and make something unforgettable.

Arts Program - where creativity is the curriculum

At Mid-Pen, the arts are immersive, interdisciplinary, and driven by student voice. Whether sketching in the studio, building theater sets, or designing community solutions, students use design thinking and the creative process to explore ideas and express who they are.

With expert guidance and room to take risks, students create work that’s thoughtful, inventive, and often deeply personal. Here, creativity connects—across subjects, mediums, and minds.

DragonWeek - one week, a thousand ways to grow

Every spring, Mid-Pen students step out of the classroom for DragonWeek: a beloved tradition that blends real-world learning with unforgettable experiences. Whether they're travelling abroad, exploring tidepools, camping under the stars, cooking for a cause, or diving into a creative project, students discover new interests, new skills, and new parts of themselves. It’s school at its most joyful, most adventurous, and most Mid-Pen.

Athletics - a place to play – and belong

Athletics are so much more than wins and losses—they're about inclusion, effort, and pride. With a no-cut policy and a focus on sportsmanship, our program gives every student a chance to compete, grow, and be part of a team. Whether it's basketball in the gym or soccer on the field, students gain confidence, resilience, and connection. Athletics here don’t just build skills—they build community.
