Buckhead Prep is an independent day school serving students from 18 months through 5th grade, at approximately half the cost of comparable Atlanta independent schools. Ninety percent of our students place into their next school, and our year-round rolling admissions policy means families can begin when they are ready.

We believe early literacy is the key that unlocks everything else. Our Primary reading program, Rapid Read, creates a fast, clear path to reading readiness.

What makes us different? We combine highly structured lessons — phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding — with warm, relational teaching. We don't just teach children how to read; we make them feel safe and confident enough to take risks and grow.

In the Elementary grades, education becomes an immersive craft. We pair evidence-based instruction — UFLI Foundations phonics in K–2 and Singapore Math Dimensions — with Integrated Units in grades 2 through 5 that connect reading, science, and social studies through a single driving question, ending in a public demonstration of what students have learned.

We also believe that true connection happens offline. That is why every student, from toddler through 5th grade, has 45 minutes of recess daily — outside whenever the weather allows, and in the gym when it does not. Unplugged, our students build relationships the old-fashioned way: face-to-face.
