Who we are
Our Mission:
At San Francisco University High School, we engage our community of diverse voices in a transformational experience that embraces the spirited pursuit of learning and empowers purpose larger than self.
The School:
Founded in 1973, San Francisco University High School is a vibrant community that fosters curiosity, kindness, a diversity of perspectives, and an authentic engagement with each other and the world. We are proud to represent the diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area, and do our part to help foster the critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation that the 21st century demands of its newest contributors.
Our 518 students come from nearly 100 different middle schools and more than 52 zip codes across the Bay Area. 60% of our students identify as students of color, and UHS awards over $5.4 million annually in financial aid to almost a quarter of our student body. Our innovative mentoring program provides the highest level of intentional support for students to explore the breadth and depth of our intellectually challenging curriculum and helps ensure that they are happy, healthy, and prepared for what lies ahead.
